Learning and Development Course Catalogue

Welcome to our new, and interactive, Learning and Development (LD) catalogue. 

As you all know, we are in the process of developing a new and different operating model so that we are prepared for, and can meet, the pressures we know are coming our way. 

Our 'How We Work' programme is about changing the way we work so that we can meet the needs of our business in the most effective way. This has four key themes, which are: 

• Process - ensuring we have the right processes and policies in place. 
• Technology - implementing the right technology and making the best use of it. 
• Space - designing our workspaces to support our new ways of working.
• People - you the workforce. 

The fourth key theme is what is at the heart of these changes. 

As is the case for all local authorities, we are being asked to deliver more with less so it is essential that we have a workforce that has the right skills and behaviours, and which is motivated, productive, flourishing and ready to take on the challenges. 

We believe that those who deliver exceptional performance want opportunities to grow, develop and gain new knowledge, skills and experience and that by providing such opportunities we will achieve our vision of attracting, hiring, developing and retaining a high performing, agile and adaptable workforce who are offered the opportunity to achieve their full potential, supported by our induction, appraisal and development programme. 

So, in the true spirit of 'How We Work' we looked at our LD catalogue to see how we could improve, for you, the process of finding the right learning opportunities.
